Product Overview: SF 3300 is a high-performance aramid/glass fiber sheet reinforced with an NBR binder, designed for general industrial applications. It is available in various thicknesses ranging from 1/64” to 1/8”.
Service Conditions: The maximum temperature is 824°F (440°C) and the maximum pressure is 2030 psi (14.0 MPa). The pH range for optimal performance is between 3 and 11.
Physical Properties: The sheet is light yellow with a density of 96 lb/ft³ (1.54 g/cc). Standard sheet sizes are 60” x 60” and 60” x 120”.
Mechanical Properties: Cross grain tensile strength is 2900 psi (20.0 MPa) and with grain tensile strength is 8550 psi (59.0 MPa).
Immersion Properties: Thickness increase in Oil #3 at 300°F is 4%, and in Fuel B at 70 - 85°F is 6%. Weight increase in Oil #3 at 300°F is 11%, and in Fuel B at 70 - 85°F is 15%.
Sealing Properties: ASTM F36J compressibility is 11% with a recovery of 65%. ASTM F37A fuel A leakage rate is 1.0 mL/hr. ASTM F38 creep relaxation is 16.4%. BS 7531 nitrogen gas permeability is 0.04 mL/min.
Design Information: Gasket constants are m = 3.7 and y = 3335 psi (23.0 MPa). PVRC constants for 1/16” thickness are Gb = 2360 psi, a = 0.190, Gs = 50.3 psi, and Tpmax = 27800. Recommended surface finish is 125 - 250 µin (3.2 - 6.3 µm). Dielectric strength is 5.6 kV/mm.
