Product catalog summary

Overview

This document provides detailed technical specifications, features, ordering information, and usage guidelines for various types of industrial work supports, including ball-tip screw style, knurled-knob style, cylindrical work supports, compact work supports, cam handle supports, and pneumatic work supports. The products are primarily made from S45C steel and SCM440 steel with black oxide finishes, designed for high durability and precision in machining and fixture applications.

1. Product Types and Styles

  • BJ350 and BJ351 Series: Work supports available in ball-tip screw style (BJ350, BJ351) and knurled-knob style (BJ350-C, BJ351-C). These feature positive locking mechanisms for high support capacity and anti-rotation options.
  • BJ360 Series: Compact work supports with knurled-knob and ball-tip screw styles, designed for smaller applications with lower support capacities.
  • BJ650 Series: Remote-control units compatible with BJ350 and BJ351 supports, facilitating easier operation.
  • BJ352 Series: Work supports with cam handles, including spiral cam designs for precise positioning.
  • BJ362 Series: Compact work supports with cam handles, available in right and left-hand versions.
  • AMNS Series: Compact pneumatic work supports designed for automated or pneumatic fixture systems.

2. Materials and Finishes

  • Body: S45C steel with black oxide finish for corrosion resistance.
  • Piston: Equivalent to SKS93 steel, quenched and tempered with black oxide finish for durability.
  • Some components use SCM440 steel, heat treated and black oxide finished.

3. Technical Specifications

Key parameters vary by model and size, including dimensions (H, S, M1, D, L, W, L2, L3, H1, H2), screw sizes (M6, M8, M10, M12, M16), stroke lengths, and mounting details. Support capacities range from approximately 0.16 kN to 25 kN depending on model and size.

Ball-Tip Screw and Knurled-Knob Variants:

  • Screw torque ranges from 1.0 N·m to 22.0 N·m.
  • Support capacities from 0.6 kN to 9.0 kN for BJ350 series, and up to 25 kN for BJ351 series.
  • Piston spring forces vary from 0 to 35 N.
  • Weights range from approximately 150 g to 1475 g depending on size and style.

4. Features and Benefits

  • Positive locking mechanism in ball-tip screw style ensures high support capacity and stability.
  • Anti-rotation ball-tip screws available to prevent workpiece chattering and deflection.
  • Knurled-knob style offers ease of manual adjustment.
  • Remote-control units (BJ650 series) enhance operational convenience.
  • Compact and cam handle designs provide space-saving and precise positioning solutions.
  • Pneumatic supports (AMNS series) enable automation and consistent force application.

5. Usage Instructions and Notes

  • When attaching support tips to tapped holes through shafts, tighten and fix the shaft to prevent damage.
  • Hex wrenches are used for installation through pistons into mounting screws.
  • Anti-rotation screws are marked for easy product identification.
  • Recommended for preventing workpiece vibration and deflection during machining.

6. Ordering and CAD Resources

Pricing, ordering details, and CAD downloads are available at fixtureworks.com. Part numbers follow a structured format indicating size, style, and features such as anti-rotation.

7. Summary of Key Tables

  • Dimensions and Part Numbers: Detailed tables list dimensions (lengths, diameters, depths), screw sizes, and corresponding part numbers for each model and size.
  • Performance Parameters: Screw torque, support capacity, piston spring force, and weight are tabulated for ball-tip screw and knurled-knob variants.
  • Material and Finish Specifications: Materials and surface treatments are specified for body and piston components.

/ Note When used with a BJ650 Remote-Control Unit, a BJ350 or BJ351 Work Support can provide the support capacity as given in the catalog if the screw torque is fully applied by using a tool like wrench. If the screw torque is fully applied by hand(using a knob), the support capacity will be reduced to approx. 20% of the catalog value. fixtu remarks Pricing, ordering and CAD downloads available at fixtureworks.com
