LR125 Pressure Reducing Liquid Regulator

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Type LR125 is a pilot-operated, pressure-reducing regulator designed for liquid industrial and commercial applications. It features smooth operation, tight shutoff, and long life, with a metal plug that deflects debris to protect the seat. It is used with a Type 95H pilot and Type 112 restrictor, featuring an internal inlet strainer to prevent large particles from entering the main valve.
Specifications
The regulator is available in 1, 2, 3, and 4-inch body sizes, with various end connection styles and structural design ratings. It specifies maximum inlet pressures, outlet pressure ranges, main valve plug travel, temperature capabilities, and flow direction. Construction materials include steel and stainless steel options.
Features and Benefits
The Type LR125 offers tight shutoff, debris protection, high accuracy, long life, full usable capacity, and easy in-line maintenance. It uses elastomer O-rings instead of gaskets, reducing maintenance time. An optional travel indicator aids in-service inspection and troubleshooting.
Principle of Operation
The regulator maintains outlet pressure by adjusting the pilot valve plug or disk based on pressure changes. It uses a main spring and inlet pressure to control the diaphragm and plug assembly, ensuring tight shutoff when necessary.
Installation
The Type LR125 can be installed indoors or outdoors, with a robust design that withstands environmental elements. Proper orientation and vent protection are necessary to prevent debris accumulation.
Overpressure Protection
Appropriate pressure-relieving devices should be used to prevent overpressuring, which can cause damage. Additional strainers or filters are recommended for applications with high debris levels.
Cavitation Sizing
A cavitation sizing graph is provided for water applications, indicating regions where cavitation is likely or unlikely to occur. Damage from cavitation can be avoided by staging pressure drops.
Tables and Figures
Several tables provide detailed specifications, including main valve body sizes, pressure ranges, and flow coefficients. Figures illustrate the regulator's features, benefits, and operational schematic.
Dimensions
Table 12 provides the dimensions for the Type LR125 regulator in various body sizes (1-inch to 4-inch) and materials (WCC Steel, CF8M Stainless Steel). Dimensions are given in both inches and millimeters for different connection styles (CL150 RF, CL300 RF, CL600 RF).
Ordering Information
The ordering guide requires careful review of specifications, including body size, material, end connection style, diaphragm material, O-ring material, and travel indicator options. The guide also includes options for the Type 95H Pilot, such as outlet pressure range and replacement parts kits.
Contact Information
Contact details for Emerson Process Management Regulator Technologies, Inc. are provided for various regions, including the USA, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East and Africa.
Additional Notes
The document emphasizes that the information is for informational purposes only and does not constitute warranties or guarantees. Emerson reserves the right to modify designs or specifications without notice.

TRIM PACKAGE TYPE LR125 PRESSURE REDUCING REGULATOR Figure 2. Type LR125 Features and Benefits 3 High Accuracy—Multiple control pressure ranges offered by Type 95H pilot and lower accuracy class inherent to pilot operated pressure regulator design provide the Type LR125 with tight and accurate control. Long Life—The robust design of the Type LR125 with its metal plug and specially engineered ow path allows ow through the regulator without seat impingement. The diaphragm design eliminates the possibility of taking a “set”, a common problem with exible element style regulators. To prevent damage,...

Bulletin 71.2:LR125 Capacity Information The capacity information on the following pages is based on four % droop, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. Droop is the negative control deviation or pressure offset below the setpoint of the regulator. Note Flow capacities are laboratory verified; therefore, regulators may be sized for 100% flow published capacities. It is not necessary to reduce published capacities. Table 10 shows Cv values at different % droop and selected inlet pressures and outlet pressure settings. Table 11 shows the liquid regulating capacities of the Type LR125 regulator at selected inlet...
