Many regulators offered today for cold temperature applications have stainless-steel diaphragms due to standard elastomers becoming brittle at low temperatures. However, metal diaphragms have a much shorter cycle life which increases the risk of gas leakage and operational downtime in the event of a diaphragm rupture.
