Technical Specifications
Description: The PCS series filter cartridges are entirely made of 316L stainless steel through a sintered metal powder process. This process results in a high open volume and permeability due to the specific size of the steel powder used. The sintering process connects the metal powders at multiple points, providing excellent mechanical properties to the filter media.
Features: These filter cartridges are suitable for high-temperature filtration (up to 420 °C) and applications requiring high differential pressure or chemical compatibility. Their mechanical strength makes them ideal for backwashing. They are available in A/AA configurations or as cylinders with a GAS thread fitting at one end. They can be cleaned using backflushing, ultrasonic, or chemical washing.
Applications: Suitable for filtering air and aggressive gases, high-temperature polymer filtration, steam, solvents, catalyst recovery, gas sparging in liquids, and filters with pulsed cleaning systems.

Ordering Information
Cartridge Configuration: Options include double open end with flat gaskets or one side closed with a threaded fitting.
Gaskets: Available materials include Buna, Viton®, Silicone, EPDM, and PTFE.
Nominal Lengths: Options are 10”, 20”, 30”, and 40”.
Nominal µ Rating: Available in 1 µm, 3 µm, 5 µm, 10 µm, and 20 µm.

Chemical Compatibility
Acids: Nitric acid (up to 10% concentration) is compatible with all gaskets, while higher concentrations require PTFE. Hydrochloric and sulfuric acids have limited compatibility.
Bases: Sodium and potassium hydroxide are compatible with EPDM.
Sterilizing Agents: Sodium hypochlorite is acceptable with EPDM, while hydrogen peroxide is good with all gaskets.
Other Chemicals: Organic solvents are very compatible with PFE, and deionized water is good with all gaskets.

Pressure Drop Charts for Steam
Charts indicate the pressure drop for a 10” element at a 0.1 Bar pressure drop, with flow rates provided in Kg/h.
