Introduction
FG Wilson has developed an in-house synchronizing system, the 'Sync-on No-Break' panel, to ensure uninterrupted service for utility company hires. This system emphasizes safety and includes various operational modes for generator control.
Specifications and Modes of OperationThe generator control panel offers multiple modes: stand-alone base load, standby, synchronization between sets, synchronization to mains, and back synchronization. These functions are accessible via a generator selector switch, with remote control available for Sync-on and back-sync features.
- Prime Mode: Single generator operation.
- Prime with Multiple Sets: Synchronization of up to eight generators.
- Mains Parallel: Single generator synchronizing with mains, including generator breaker control and ROCOF Relay for mains failure.
- Automatic Mains Fail with Soft Re-Transfer: Automatic response to mains failure, with generator starting, load transfer, and synchronization back to mains upon power return.
Rental Back Sync Control SystemThis system complements the rental range (250–1250 kVA) and includes:
- Back Sync Mode: Provides sync on and back sync off with no break operation for utility work, controlled remotely via a Synchon Panel.
- Resync Panel: Ensures automatic closure only under true synchronizing conditions, used alongside other options for critical applications.
Technical Specifications
The system includes a digital display for various parameters such as AC voltage, current, frequency, power factor, and more. Operator controls include stop/auto/test/manual switches, emergency stop, and manual/automatic adjustments. System controls feature automatic synchronizing, load sharing, and sequencing, with shutdowns and alarms for various faults.
