Farrat Verlimber (VR)

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed information on Farrat Verlimber VR16, VR27, and VR38, which are premium-grade expanded polyurethane vibration isolation foams. These materials are designed for low-pressure applications and offer excellent low-frequency vibration isolation and acoustic performance.
Specifications:
  • VR16: High resilience, suitable for repeated compression cycles up to 45% strain, waterproof, non-absorbing, and has a long working lifetime of over 60 years. Available in 270 (VR27) and 385 (VR38) grades for higher pressures.
  • VR27: Similar features to VR16, with a focus on applications requiring higher pressure resistance.
  • VR38: Offers high resilience with good low-frequency isolation, suitable for repeated compression cycles up to 40% strain, and is also waterproof and non-absorbing.
Applications:
  • Full Area: Suitable for full building raft-slabs, soil pressure bearing supports, and movement joints.
  • Strips: Used for partition loading, corbels, and timber frame supports.
  • Pads: Ideal for bespoke low-load isolation, steel/timber frame isolation, and general anti-vibration pads.
Performance Characteristics:
  • Static Compression Modulus varies with load/thickness.
  • Dynamic to Static Ratio determined using in-house test methodology.
  • Damping Ratio at natural frequency is 9.4% for VR16, 5.5% for VR27, and 5.7% for VR38.
  • Max Static Pressure and Max Residual Compression After Overload are specified for each grade.
Availability:
  • Standard sheet size is 2000x1000 mm with thickness options of 12.5 mm, 25 mm, and up to 100 mm.
  • Lead times vary from 2-3 working days for stock items to 4-6 weeks for bespoke orders.
Technical Data:
  • Hardness, density, tensile strength, elongation at break, compression set, water absorption, and creep are detailed for each grade.
  • Graphs illustrate static deflection, natural frequency, and isolation efficiency across different pressures and frequencies.
