The Saturn mixed flow pumps are designed using CAD systems and specially developed computer programs for flow optimisation. This results in high efficiencies, low power consumption and reduced operating costs. Saturn mixed flow pumps are vertical (VMF) models with a variety of mounting arrangements and nozzle positions to suit most pipe configurations and pumping station design. By using oversized shafts and reducing the overhang, shaft deflection is reduced to a minimum. This eliminates shaft failures and increases packing life. The larger sizes of pumps are fitted with a double volute which reduces the radial and axial forces and increases bearing life. If it is necessary to disassemble the pump, the entire rotating assembly can be removed without disturbing the casing or suction and discharge piping.
