Open the catalog to page 3Overview Operating principle Linear and rotary feedback systems are systems transforming these types of movements into electronic signals. These signals, properly processed, are the basis for displacements readout for measuring and control equipment. FAGOR Feedback systems use two different elements for generating the electrical feedback signals: - Graduated glass Scales (for linear feedback systems) or graduated glass discs (for rotary encoders). - Graduated Steel Tape Scales. Measuring process FAGOR Feedback Systems provide the output signals through an opto-electronic process based on...
Open the catalog to page 4Reference marks (home marker pulses) Applications A reference signal is a special engraving which provides a pulse when run through. The reference signals are used to restore the machine zero position (home) and especially to avoid errors due to accidental axis movement while the CNC or DRO was off. In response to the new challenges that machine manufacturers are facing (high speed machining that cause greater vibration; greater precision; immunity to temperature changes; etc. FAGOR has developed two feedback product ranges according to these new demands. FAGOR Linear Scales offer five...

On steel tape linear encoders, using a pitch of 100 µm for the F model and 40 µm for the L model. VA VOL VB • Rotary encoders: by means of a chrome graduated disc with a pitch depending on the number of lines per turn. The signals generated are amplified by an electronic circuit incorporated into the reader head which converts the resulting primary signals into...

Accuracy refers to the precision of the On FAGOR linear encoders, the accuracy defines the limits of maximum error (in urn) existing in any 1 meter section chosen at random along its full measuring length. Every single FAGOR linear encoder has undergone a final accuracy control carried out on a computerized measuring table and by means of a LASER interferometer inside a chamber whose temperature Each FAGOR linear encoder comes with the resulting accuracy graph...

The scale also has an air tap for installing an optional compressed air device to reach an IP64 protection standard. Graduated scale Cursor Thermal mounting system (TDMS®) The reader head moves inside the linear encoder on roller bearings that minimize wear and expand the life span of the whole unit. Open the catalog to page 9Linear Encoder Selection Guide The application needs to be evaluated to ensure that the correct linear encoder is installed on the machine. To do this the following points should be taken into account: Installation This takes into account the physical length of the installation and the space available for installation. These are fundamental to determining the type of linear encoder to use (Type of Profile). Accuracy Each linear encoder is supplied with an accuracy chart showing the linear encoders accuracy over it entire length. Signal Product Family Signal selection takes into account the...
