  • Sensitivity: 2 mV/V, Linearity: +/- 1%, Repeatability: +/- 0.5%.
  • Hysteresis: 1% nominal, Frequency response: 250 Hz.
  • Factory calibrated and compatible with standard gauge monitors and PLC input cards.
Features
  • Available in GSX30, 40, 50, 60 models and I30, 40 models.
  • Optional bi-directional force measurement.
  • Overload capacity of 1.5x full scale to prevent damage from peak forces.
  • Strain gauge amplifiers convert load cell output to 0-10V or 4-20mA signals.
Applications
  • Fastening, riveting, bag sealing, thermoforming, welding, and more.
  • Precision applications like grinders, pressing, and interference detection.
  • Industrial processes such as injection molding, tube bending, and stamping.
Performance Specifications
  • Linearity and repeatability are consistent across GSX and I Series.
  • Frequency response and overload capability are designed for robust performance.
  • Force measurement range varies by model, with GSX series offering up to 10,000 lbf (45 kN).
Configuration and Calibration
  • Standard configurations measure compressive loads, with optional tension measurement.
  • Load cell amplifiers provide power, excitation, and signal conditioning.
  • Factory calibration ensures quick setup and reliable performance.
Conclusion
Exlar's force measuring actuators simplify the implementation of force measurement systems by integrating load cells within the actuator, reducing the need for external components and complex setups. This integration ensures precise force measurement and enhances the reliability of industrial applications.

Force Measuring-1

Exlar offers select models of its GSX and I Series actuators with integral force measuring capability. This option is avail- able in the GSX30, 40, 50 & 60 models and the I30 and 40 models. In both product lines a load cell is embedded within the actua- tor allowing it to directly mea- sure the force being applied by the actuators output rod. The strain gauge load sensor used to measure applied force is mounted inside the actuatorҒs case, protecting it from exter- nal damage and guaranteeing accurate and consistent force data.A separate connector is sup-plied for connecting the internal load cell to an external strain conditioner/amplifi er required to excite the strain gauge sen- sor. Alternatively, Exlar can offer strain gauge conditioners to provide a high level output signal, either 0-10V or 4-20mA.Alternatively, any one of nu-merous conditioners/amplifi ers available can be used for this purpose. > Strain Gauge Amplifi er GSX Series Linear Actuator ? strain gauge signal conditioner must be selected, ordered, in- stalled and calibrated. What seems on the front end to be a simple implementation of a force measuring system fre- quently turns into a project requir- ing expertise from both electrical and mechanical personnel. It is also common to see such projects extend beyond the target comple- tion date as system components are redesigned or reordered.Exlars embedded force measur-ing option eliminates much of the effort and the risk associated with measuring the applied force produced by the actuator. This system will deliver specifi ed per-...

Strain Gauge Function ? The strain gauge acts as a resistor in one leg of a Wheat- stone bridge ? The strain gauge amplifi er ap- plies voltage across the bridge at A-A (excitation voltage), causing current to fl ow through the bridge ? The resistance of the strain gauge changes as a function of the force being applied ? The output voltage across B-B changes as a function of the force being applied to the load cell. Typical Features ? DIN rail panel ? 24 Volt power ? +/- Volt or 0/4-20 mA output ? Simple gain & offset adjust- ments ? Auto calibration ? Simple fi ltering options ? With or without...
