Hall Speed Sensors

Hall Speed Sensors

Product catalog summary
Operating Principle of Hall Effect Sensors
Hall effect sensors are used to detect the speed and angular position of ferrous gears. They operate by sensing the variation in magnetic flux between a magnet and the passing gear teeth. These sensors are immune to orientation requirements and can detect speed down to a complete stop, making them zero-speed sensors.
General Features
Hall effect sensors are designed for measuring the speed of fast-rotating devices such as camshafts and motorshafts. They utilize a single sensitive element, which eliminates the need for costly alignment operations. The sensors are protected against supply voltage inversion and output short circuits, and they can be used as transmission components.
Technical Specifications
  • Electrical Characteristics: Maximum output current is 25mA with a 3-wire connection (+Vcc, GND, OUT).
  • Magnetic Characteristics: Maximum dynamic range is 500mT with a hysteresis of 5mT.
  • Mechanical Characteristics: Maximum detection distance is 1.5mm, with cases made of brass or Nylon 6/6, and a protection degree of IP67.
Model-Specific Details
  • SNV04: Designed for high-speed rotating components, with a brass case and IP67 protection.
  • SNV05: Suitable for motorcycle applications like tachometers and ABS, with a Nylon 6/6 case and reverse voltage protection up to 18V.
  • SNV06: Similar to SNV05 but with a supply current of 10mA and a brass bush.
  • SNV07: Features a 6mA supply current and an operating frequency of 0/2 kHz.
  • SNV08 and SNV09: Both models have similar specifications to SNV07, with a focus on detecting metal protuberances for speed measurement.
