RTDs with terminal head - Technical Information What Are Terminal Heads? Terminal Heads are a type of cold end termination which are common on industrial type temperature sensors. A temperature sensor will be encased in a ceramic or metal sheath which will be terminated at the cold end with a terminal head. RTDs with terminal head - Technical Information Understanding the naming of Pt100, PT500 and PT1000 sensors RTDs advantages RTDs have several advantages over other types of temperature sensors: First of all, "Pt" is the chemical symbol for platinum because platinum is the basic material for making the measuring element.
