General Information
The document is a technical datasheet for ESZ Dual Wall Heat Shrink Tubing made from PTFE/FEP, provided by ESZ Wilfried Becker GmbH. The material used is virgin PTFE and FEP, with no fillers. The tubing is available in production or cutting lengths.
Mechanical Properties
The mechanical properties include density, stress at break, elongation at break, and Shore hardness. PTFE has a density of 2.14-2.19 g/cm³ and FEP 2.12-2.17 g/cm³. Stress at break is ≥29 N/mm² for PTFE and ≥19 N/mm² for FEP. Elongation at break is ≥200% for PTFE and ≥250% for FEP. Shore hardness ranges from D 55-72 for PTFE and D 55-60 for FEP.
Thermal Properties
Melting temperature is 327°C for PTFE and 253-282°C for FEP. Service temperature ranges from -200 to 260°C for PTFE and -190 to 205°C for FEP. The shrinking temperature for dual wall heat shrink tubing is a minimum of 330°C, with a longitudinal shrinkage of ±10%.
Other Properties
The dielectric constant is <2.1 for both materials. Dielectric strength is >40 kV/mm for PTFE and >50 kV/mm for FEP. The dielectric loss factor is 0.5 - 0.7*10⁻⁴ for both. Specific flow resistance is >10¹⁶ Ohm, and combustibility is rated V-0 according to UL 94.
Dimensions and Specifications
The datasheet provides dimensions for both standard and thin wall dual shrink tubing. For standard wall tubing, dimensions range from DTW 036 to DTW 950, with expanded IDs from 0.91 mm to 24.10 mm and shrunk IDs from 0.00 mm to 16.00 mm. For thin wall tubing, dimensions range from DLW 065 to DLW 990, with expanded IDs from 1.65 mm to 25.40 mm and shrunk IDs from 0.00 mm to 17.80 mm. Custom sizes are available upon request.
