General Properties
Density of HDPE is between 0.95 – 0.96 g/cm³ at 23°C.

Thermal Properties
Vicat softening point ranges from 120 – 130°C. Low temperature brittleness occurs between -60 to -80°C. The service temperature ranges from a minimum of -60°C to a maximum of 60°C for continuous use and 90°C for intermittent use.

Mechanical Properties
Tensile strength at yield is between 20 – 35 MPa. Elongation at break ranges from 300% to 1000%. Flexural modulus is between 900 – 1650 MPa.

Flammability Properties
Oxygen index is between 15-17. The flammability rating is UL 94 HB.

Chemical Properties
HDPE shows good resistance to weak acids and alkalis, but poor resistance to strong acids. It is resistant to organic solvents below 80°C and is attacked by some oils and greases. It has poor resistance to UV if unprotected.
