esde High-Speed Single Screw Extruders • fast-rotating Direct Drive • high-efficient Feed Section • dispersive Plastification Extrusion with Speed The esde high-speed extruder differs from the conventional extruder in its compact design, the high energy efficiency and the short dwell time of the material. The application of energy is mostly effected by its circumferential speed and, to a lesser extent by the torsional moment of the extruder screw. The very short dwell time of 5 to 7 seconds in the extruder protects the melt from degradative reactions, a screw area for the dispersive melting of the solid matter accounts for the gentle plastification. The distribution of the solid matter particles in the melt creates a thermally homogeneous flow.Even at the processing of complex grinding stock this new extruder generation can achieve a through-put of 600 kg/hr. The innovative Machine Design of the esde High-Speed Extruder The basis for this processing technique is the combination of a high-efficient feed section and an extruder screw especially designed for dispersive melting.For the first time special synchronized servo motors are employed in the single screw extruder. In comparison to the usual torque motors these motors enable a considerably higher speed. Due to the employment of this efficient direct drive no energy loss occurs.
