Product catalog summary
Technical Description and Operating Instructions
The Cross Hatch Cutter Model 295 is a mechanical instrument designed for adhesion tests using the cross-cut method, adhering to international standards. It is economically efficient due to its four independent cutting edges, allowing for standardized tests on various coating materials.

Safety Instructions
The instrument is intended solely for adhesion tests and poses a risk of injury if not handled properly. It is crucial to distribute pressure evenly during use to achieve accurate results.

Design and Function
The Model 295 features an ergonomic hand grip with an adjustable cutting head. Different versions are available, each with multiple cutting edges, enhancing economic efficiency by providing spare edges. Versions IX, X, and XI include a free-turnable axle for uniform pressure distribution, reducing user fatigue.

Folding Ruler
Models 295/III, XII, and XIII include a folding ruler with various thicknesses for precise cutting distances. The innovative design of Model 295/XIII offers improved handling.

Test Principle
The test involves cutting through the coating in a defined pattern and visually evaluating the adhesion quality based on the coating's detachment from the substrate. Results are compared against standard schematic representations.

Order Information
Various models and spare parts are available, each with specific features such as cutting distance and included accessories like magnifying glasses and brushes.

Standards and Classifications
The document outlines the standards applicable to different models, including ISO 2409, ASTM D 3359, and others. It also provides a classification system for evaluating the appearance of cuts and coating loss.

Additional Information
The document mentions the availability of the CrossScan 295 XVI, an automatic system for evaluating cross hatch cuts.

SAFTY INSTRUCTIONS Proper use The Model 295 is intended only for adhesion tests by carrying out the cross-cut test in accordance with the international standards. The Cross Hatch Cutter is a purely mechanical instrument. The blades of the cross cutters are very sharp edged and therefore may cause injuries, if the instrument is not handled correctly and carefully! To the versions I, II and VII of Models 295 the cutting head used in each case is mounted in a hand grip in a fixed manner. Because they are, during the test procedure, moved manually over the surface to be tested, the pressure exerted...

In the case of the single cut instruments, Models 295/III, XII and XIII a folding ruler is also included. There are three versions of folding rulers available: • for Mod. 295/III: with 10 swivel-mounted folding • for Mod. 295/XII: with 10 swivel-mounted folding rulers of 1 mm and 1.5 mm thickness each (1.5 mm = acc. to Daimler-Benz) • for Mod. 295/XIII: with 5 swivel-mounted folding rulers of 1 mm/2 mm/3 mm thickness each. These folding rulers provide the ruler thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm or 3 mm for the required cutting distances “all of a piece” i.e. it is no longer necessary to build...
