Epson Stylus Pro 7900 Computer To Plate Press Chemistry Recommendations Epson Professional Imaging is pleased to provide press chemistry recommentations for use with the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 Computer to Plate System. These are only recommendations as other chemistry is compatible. However the below listed recommendations have been tested to be compatible with Epson DirectPlate Aluminum Technology. Fountain Solution The following are recommended fountain solutions for the Epson DirectPlate Aluminum: • RBP UniTrol 192 - (Recommended mix 5-6% in water) • Prisco Fount Concentrate 142-126 - (Recommended mix 5-6% in water) • Saverio Rief Perfect Fount - (Recommended mix 5-6% in water) • Kenwrick Chemicals Prohibition HW - (Recommended mix 4-5% in water) • Anchor Emerald Premium CPQ - (Recommended mix 5-6% in water) • Clayton Photomeg 220 - (Recommended mix 15-17% in water) • ABDick Mega Plate Fountain Solution - (Recommended mix 8-10% in water) These fountain solutions are suitable for all types of water. For dampening systems working with alcohol, it is recommended to reduce alcohol concentration to 5-8%. Fountain solutions specied for polyester plates like Ultrachem Prima Fount SM-A, Varn Universal Pink, Unigraph Kolitho & Agfa G671c are also compatible with Epson DirectPlate Aluminum plates, but they have been found less eective than those solutions recommended above. Plate Cleaner The following are recommended Plate Cleaners for use with Epson DirectPlate Aluminum: • HYDRO CLEAN™ RBP Chemical Technology • Varn CtP Cleaner • POSCO Hit-’n-Run Emulsion Plate Cleaner • Ultrachem Prima CTP Plate Cleaner • Fujilm PS Plate Multi Cleaner MC-E • Prisco® Velocity Plate Cleaner Press Wash The following are recommended Press Washes for use with Epson DirectPlate Aluminum: • Varn EC Wash • Ultrachem Prima Wash • Varn News 75 Wash • printcom® wash 202B • Sun Chemicals SUN WASH U H8830A Note: It is strongly recommended that you carefully test if you choose to use a solution not listed above Deltion Pen Mitsubishi Correction Pen or Fluide SLM-OE IWATSU Elotax Corrector OX-1 Agfa Lithostar Copyrapid Correction Pen A wet standard pencil eraser works well to delete a small section from an image Scratches and unwanted dots on background can be removed using the plate cleaners listed above. Note: Aggressive plate cleaners and deletion/correction uids and pens can potentially damage the image on the plate; therefore one must handle with extreme care and refrain from applying on the imaged areas of the plate.
