Product catalog summary
Overview: The MGC101 Multi-Gas Calibrator is designed for air quality monitoring systems, meeting all U.S. EPA requirements. It performs automatic zero, precision, span, and multi-point calibrations using various gases such as NO, NO2, SO2, CO, O3, and hydrocarbons.
Specific Features:
  • User-friendly software with plain language prompts reduces training time and errors.
  • Automatic calculation of dilution and span gas flows based on commanded concentration.
  • Internally-stored mass flow controller calibration data enhances accuracy and simplifies recalibration.
  • Simultaneous connection from 1 to 4 gas cylinders, with an option for 5.
  • Easy programming with keyboard and pop-up menu, and automatic calibration sequences.
  • LCD screen with 4 lines and 20 characters.
Main Applications:
  • Air quality monitoring stations and mobile laboratories for manual, automatic, or remote calibration.
  • Used as a reference calibrator in central stations.
  • Testing of analyzers through automatic zero, precision, span, multi-point calibration, and gas phase titration (GPT).
Operating Principle: The MGC101 includes thermal mass flow controllers, an ozone generation module, a mixing zone, a reaction chamber for gas phase titration, and control electronics. It is calibrated to a NIST traceable primary standard, with data stored in non-volatile memory. The ozone generator is factory calibrated using a NIST traceable ozone standard.
Technical Specifications:
  • Flow accuracy: ± 1% of full scale.
  • Flow: ± 0.1% of full scale.
  • Dilution ratio: 1/12 to 1/900 in dilution mode, 1/56 to 1/500 in TPG mode.
  • Ozone production: 0.02 ppb to 0.5 ppm, with an option for 0.05 ppb to 1 ppm at 10 l/m.
  • Pre-heating time: 30 minutes.
  • Response time: 2 minutes for 1% accuracy.
  • Operating pressure: 1.72 bars recommended, 1.38 bar minimum, 2.07 bars maximum.
  • Power supply: 230 V, 50 Hz or 115 V, 60 Hz, with 250 VA consumption.
  • Operating temperature: 0°C to +50°C.
Main Options:
  • Built-in permeation benches for certified permeation tubes.
  • Additional dilution ratios upon request.
  • Third mass flow controller.
  • UV Photometer.
  • Solenoid valve on the outlet.
  • Additional gas inlet.
Standard Functions:
  • Blend: Automatically calculates and delivers specified concentrations.
  • Ozone generation: Allows precise and stable ozone generation.
  • Gas Phase Titration (GPT): Based on the reaction NO + O3 → NO2 + O2, using the excess nitric oxide Transfer Standard Procedure (GPT-NO).
  • Manual: Allows manual command of flow rates.
  • Display: Monitors flow rates and provides ozone oven block temperature.
  • RDM calibration: Multi-point calibration.
  • Ozone generator calibration: Performed using 7 to 11 points for improved linearity.

MGC101- Multi-Gas Calibrator-2

AIR QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEMS The MGC101 consists of a single chassis supporting 2 thermal mass flow controllers, an ozone generation module, a mixing zone, a reaction chamber for gas phase titration, and control electronics. The mass flow controllers are calibrated to a NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) traceable primary standard. The calibration data consists of a comparison of desired versus actual flow over the full dynamic range of the instrument with linear interpolation between points. Calibration data is stored in non-volatile memory and may be updated by the user...
