Principle of Operation: The analyzer uses an electrometer to measure the current generated by ionization of carbon atoms in a hydrogen/air flame. An optional converter oxidizes non-methane hydrocarbons to distinguish them from total hydrocarbons. Temperature-controlled pneumatics prevent condensation, and the flow is automatically adjusted. The instrument features automatic flame ignition and zero/span solenoid valves for checks.
