Explosion (Ex) group I Category M2/Mb mining Explosion group II Category 2 and 3 [Zone 1 2G/Gb, Zone 2 3G/Gc (Gas)] Explosion group III Category 2 and 3 [Zone 21 2D/Db, Zone 22 3D/Dc (Dust)] They are designed to power electrical material handling equipment working in hazardous areas (potentially explosive atmospheres). The new compact design of the battery container permits the O.E. manufacturers recommended maximum capacity cells to be fitted, thus eliminating the previous necessity of reduced capacity and working patterns noted with alternative designs.
