Product catalog summary
Overview: The Endevco® model 6240M10 is a piezoelectric accelerometer designed for high-temperature applications, particularly in aircraft gas-turbine engines for vibration monitoring. It operates continuously at temperatures up to +1200°F (+650°C) and intermittently up to +1400°F (+760°C). Its compact size and high sensitivity make it suitable for low-level vibration analysis without requiring an external power source.
Specifications: The accelerometer features a charge sensitivity of 5.0 pC/g, a resonance frequency of 10 kHz, and an amplitude response range of 30 to 2000 Hz (±5%) and 1 to 3000 Hz (±1 dB). It maintains a charge temperature response of ±10% up to 1200°F (+649°C) and has a transverse sensitivity of ≤5%. The device is ground-isolated and hermetically sealed, with a sinusoidal vibration limit of 250 g pk and a shock limit of 1000 g pk.
Electrical Characteristics: The accelerometer has an output polarity where acceleration directed into the base produces a positive output. It offers a resistance of ≥100 MΩ at +1200°F (+650°C) and a capacitance of 180 pF without the hardline cable. The hardline cable capacitance is 110 pF/ft (361 pF/m).
Environmental Characteristics: The device operates within a temperature range of -65°F to +1200°F (-54°C to +649°C) continuously and up to +1400°F (-54°C to +760°C) intermittently. The connector can withstand temperatures up to +500°F (+260°C).
Physical Characteristics: The sensor, without the integral cable, weighs 95 gm (3.3 oz), and the integral cable weighs 14 gm/ft (0.49 oz/ft). It is constructed from Inconel and features a triaxial hardline cable with a 0.125-inch diameter. The connector is a coaxial receptacle with 10-32 UNF threads.
Calibration and Accessories: Calibration data traceable to NIST is provided. Accessories include optional cable assemblies and charge amplifiers. The device is compatible with Endevco signal conditioner model 2721B and potentially with the 2771C remote charge converter.
Notes: The low-end response of the transducer depends on associated electronics. For cable lengths under 12 inches, the maximum operating temperature is +500°F (+260°C). Endevco offers factory calibration services for maintaining precision and accuracy.

Endevco® Model 6240M10 Extreme High Temp Accelerometer to 760-1

Model 6240M10 Piezoelectric accelerometer Features • High-temperature operation (+760°C) • Hermetically sealed • Ground-isolated • Requires no external power • Aircraft gas-turbine testing The Endevco® model 6240M10 piezoelectric accelerometer is uniquely designed for continuous operation at +1200°F (+650°C) and intermittent operation up to +1400°F (+760°C). The 6240M10 is ideally suited for applications on aircraft gas-turbine engines as part of vibration monitoring systems. The 6240M10’s small size allows for installation in cramped quarters. It also features a relatively high sensitivity for low-level vibration analysis. The accelerometer is a self-generating device that requires no external power source for operation. Electrical connection is made through an integral hardline triaxial cable terminated with a 10-32 receptacle. Cable assemblies 3075M21 (482°C), 3075M6 (482°C) and 3090C (260°C) are designed to mate with this receptacle. The sensing elements and integral shield are isolated from the case. The standard cable length is 120 inches, however, other cable lengths are also available on special order. Endevco signal conditioner model 2721B is recommended for use with this accelerometer. The 2771C remote charge convertor may also be compatible for applications using this high-impedance accelerometer, depending on the temperature the accelerometer will be exposed to.
