Product catalog summary
Product Overview: The Endevco® model 2228C is a triaxial piezoelectric accelerometer designed for vibration measurement in three orthogonal axes. It is lightweight (15 gm), ground isolated, and requires no external power. The sensor is suitable for small structures and objects, featuring three 10-32 receptacles for output connection and can be mounted using screws or adhesive.
Specifications: The accelerometer operates with Endevco’s Piezite® type P-8 crystal elements in annular shear mode, ensuring stable output sensitivity over time. It has a charge sensitivity of 2.8 pC/g (typical) and a resonance frequency of 21 kHz. The frequency response ranges from 1 to 4000 Hz (±5%) and 0.1 to 6000 Hz (±1 dB). The temperature range is -67°F to +350°F (-55°C to +177°C), with a maximum transverse sensitivity of ≤5%.
Electrical Characteristics: The accelerometer has a resistance of ≥10 GΩ and capacitance of 400 pF. It is isolated from the anodized aluminum case, ensuring signal ground isolation.
Environmental Characteristics: The device is epoxy sealed and non-hermetic, with a sinusoidal vibration limit of 1000 g pk and a shock limit of 2000 g pk. It meets salt spray standards when used with a sealed connector.
Accessories and Recommendations: Recommended accessories include Endevco signal conditioners (models 133, 2771C, 2775B, 6634C) and the OASIS 2000 system. The accelerometer can be mounted using adhesives like petro-wax or cyanoacrylate epoxy, with an optional adhesive mounting kit available. Calibration services are recommended for maintaining precision and accuracy.
Additional Notes: The document includes typical amplitude and temperature response graphs, as well as detailed dimensions and mounting instructions. Endevco reserves the right to modify specifications without notice, ensuring product reliability through stringent quality control measures.
