Endevco® model 2220E Miniature High Temperature Piezoelectric Accelerometer

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Endevco model 2220E is a miniature piezoelectric accelerometer designed for high-temperature vibration measurement on small structures. It is hermetically sealed, lightweight (3.1 gm), and self-generating, requiring no external power source.
Features: The accelerometer uses Endevco’s Piezite® type P-8 crystal element in annular shear mode, providing stable output sensitivity. It includes a low-noise coaxial cable and allows 360° cable orientation. It can be mounted using a screw assembly or adhesive.
Specifications: The accelerometer operates within a temperature range of -67°F to +500°F (-55°C to +260°C) and has a resonance frequency of 50 kHz. It offers a charge sensitivity of 3.0 pC/g (typical) and a frequency response up to 12,000 Hz. The unit is resistant to sinusoidal vibrations up to 1000 g pk and shock limits up to 5000 g pk.
Electrical Characteristics: The output polarity is positive when acceleration is directed into the base. It has a resistance of ≥20 GΩ and capacitance of 770 pF. The signal return is connected to the case, which is isolated from the mounting surface.
Environmental and Physical Characteristics: The accelerometer is made from 304L stainless steel and weighs 3.1 gm. It is hermetically sealed to withstand humidity.
Calibration and Accessories: Calibration data traceable to NIST is provided. Accessories include mounting screws, a wrench, cable assemblies, and optional signal conditioners.
Recommendations: Use with Endevco signal conditioners or the OASIS 2000 system for optimal performance. Regular calibration services are recommended for maintaining precision and accuracy.

Endevco® model 2220E Miniature High Temperature Piezoelectric Accelerometer-1

Model 2220E Piezoelectric accelerometer Features • NEW! 2220E-R available as replacement sensor • High temperature (260°C) • Miniature design • 360° cable orientation • Hermetically sealed • Small-motor testing, APU’s, hydraulic actuators The Endevco® model 2220E is a miniature piezoelectric accelerometer designed specifically for high temperature vibration measurement on mini-structures and small objects. The unit is hermetically sealed and ideal for use in extreme environments. Its light weight (3.1 gm) effectively eliminates mass loading. The accelerometer is a selfgenerating device that requires no external power source for operation. Model 2220E features Endevco’s Piezite® type P-8 crystal element operating in annular shear mode. This configuration exhibits excellent output sensitivity stability over time. Signal ground is connected to the outer case of the unit. When used with the supplied isolated mounting screw assembly, the accelerometer is electrically isolated from ground. A specially designed, low-noise coaxial cable is supplied for error-free operation. The transducer utilizes a centrally located thru bolt, allowing 360° cable orientation. The unit may also be mounted with an adhesive. Endevco signal conditioner models 133, 2775B, 2771C, or OASIS 2000 computercontrolled system are recommended for use with this high-impedance accelerometer.
