SISTEMI INDUSTRIALI DC MOTORS − MD/MDL 800 SERIES APPLICATIONS: METALS (ARMORED MILL MOTORS) These DC Motors, known for their robust design and reliability in heavy-duty applications, provide superior quality, maximum efficiency and low maintenance costs. They also play an important role in guaranteeing maximum plant availability. They can operate in constant or adjustable voltage drive systems with either AC/DC converter supply or motor-generator sets. These Rotating Machines comply with American AISE n. 1 Std. (Association of Iron and Steel Engineers - USA). Even if they use a proven technology and occupy a limited market segment, these DC motors are still present in many applications in steel plants, excavating equipment, shipyard cranes, coal and ore dock cranes. Nidec ASI can provide the complete range of these particular DC motors which incorporate the latest technological innovations. In addition, our engineering capabilities allow us to replace and rebuild existing rotating machines through the process of "reverse engineering". Main characteristics Our DC armored mill motors are designed with an highly effective low-noise cooling system that allows high power – high torque performance from compact machines. High torque performance is possible thanks to the sized Shaft Ends, constructed from certified high quality steel. Moreover, the brushes commutator system guarantees excellent performance and commutation over a wide speed range. The machines are insulated using a VPI process. Our insulation system is one of the best on the market. Due to its outstanding dielectric and mechanical properties, this class H insulation system (with class F temperature rise) is qualified for use in aggressive environments and is particularly suitable for metals applications, ensuring a high level of reliability over the entire life cycle.

Our DC motors are manufactured in accordance with Directive 2006/95/CE (LVD). The "CE" is affixed to each motor to certify compliance with the above directive.
