Product catalog summary
Technical Specifications
Yarway Blow-Off Valves are designed for boiler systems with pressures up to 3206 psi, available in sizes NPS 1 to 2½ (DN 25 to 65). They can be connected via flanged, socketweld, or buttweld connections and are made from cast iron and carbon steel.

General Application
The valves are used to remove dirt, sediment, and scale from boiler systems and maintain boiler level surge.

Features
  • Compliance with ASME standards (Section 1, B31.1, B16.34).
  • Rugged construction for high pressure and velocity resistance.
  • Resistance to cleaning acids and wear from precipitated solids.

Valve Types
  • Seatless Valves: Prevent scoring or plugging with dirt and ensure no leakage, featuring live-loaded packing and a slow opening mechanism.
  • Unit Tandem Valves: Combine hardseat and seatless valves in a single body to eliminate pipe joints and reduce potential leaks.
  • Hardseat Valves: Equipped with Stellite seat faces for wear resistance and long service life.

Design and Operation
  • Open yoke design shows the position of the plunger in the body.
  • Ball bearing yoke for easy handwheel operation.
  • Long stroke length with threaded stem to prevent water hammer.
  • Nitralloy plunger tube resists erosion and high temperatures.
  • Compression springs maintain pressure on packing rings.

Installation and Usage
Designed according to ASME Power Boiler Code, Section I, suitable for high-pressure systems, with options for manual or electric motor actuation.

Materials of Construction
Include cast iron, cast steel, graphite, stainless steel, and nitralloy, depending on valve type and pressure class.

Ordering Information
Specify size, figure number, basic pressure rating, connection type, and style (angle or straightway). For tandem valves, specify arrangement and pressure rating requirements.

Overview
This document provides technical specifications and ordering instructions for Yarway blow-off valves, including seatless, hardseat, and unit tandem configurations.

Specifications
Details the construction of unit tandem valves, conforming to ASME Boiler Code standards, suitable for specific pressure ratings.

Ordering Instructions
Requires size, figure number, basic pressure rating, type of connectors, hand orientation, and trim type. For motor-actuated valves, specify electric motor actuation details.

Handing of Valves
Specifying hand orientation is important due to off-center construction relative to the boiler outlet.

Materials of Construction
Valves are made from carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloy, with parts conforming to ASME and ASTM standards.

Dimensions and Weights
Tables provide dimensions and weights for different valve configurations, including pressure rating class and blow-off pressure.

Figures and Diagrams
Includes figures and diagrams illustrating valve construction and dimensions for correct specification and installation.

YARWAY BLOW-OFF VALVES SEATLESS, HARDSEAT AND UNIT TANDEM-2

GENERAL DESCRIPTION TYPE B SEATLESS BLOW-OFF VALVE Basic requirements for the design and use of blow-off valves are established by the ASME Power Boiler Code, Section l. The general form of a valve, the materials of its construction, allowable boiler pressures, and the installation of the valve are all determined by the code. Yarway blow-off valves are designed in conformance with all code requirements (ASME Section l, ASME B31.1, ASME B16.34). Because the primary purpose of a blow-off valve is removal of dirt, sediment and scale, the boiler code requires that valves which have dams or pockets...

YARWAY BLOW-OFF VALVES SEATLESS, HARDSEAT AND UNIT TANDEM SEATLESS VALVES FOR PRESSURES TO 935 PSI - CLASS 250 TO 600 The seatless blow-off valve is a sliding plunger type, opened and closed by means of a handwheel and non-rising stem, and sealed against leakage by packing rings above and below the ports. This valve is provided with heavy coil compression springs under the yoke nuts. Designed to help prevent leaking when the valve is open, yoke nuts are screwed down evenly and tightly placing compression on the springs and the packing rings. Ample flow area is provided in the hollow plunger;...

YARWAY BLOW-OFF VALVES SEATLESS, HARDSEAT AND UNIT TANDEM UNIT TANDEM VALVES FOR PRESSURES TO 3206 PSI - CLASS 300 TO 2500 The Yarway unit tandem valve features a one-piece steel block which serves as a common body for both blowing and sealing valves. This construction eliminates interconnecting welds, or bolts and gaskets where flanged valves are required, and makes the unit tandem a compact design. For valves with basic pressure rating to 600 psi (medium pressure unit tandem), the inlet valve is a hardseat type and the discharge valve is of the seatless type. For basic pressure ratings above...
