The Ethernet isolator complies with IEC/EN60601-1(Edition 3.2) and IEC/EN60601-1-2(Edition 4.1) of safety and EMC standards for a network connection between a medical device and an Ethernet network or non-medical device (PC or laptop). In accordance with the IEC/EN60601-1(Edition 3.2) standard for medical electrical devices and systems, the Ethernet Network Isolator protects the network interface by two independent protective measures (2 MOPP) to the patient and the network connection is safely galvanically isolated. The medical Ethernet Network Isolator protects staff, patients and medical technology equipment in patient care vicinities from dangerous leakage currents that can travel through a copper-based Ethernet network. It effectively isolates medical equipment to protect patients, yet allows data to flow at Gigabit Ethernet speeds. To install In-Line on an Ethernet network, this Ethernet Network isolator has two RJ45 ports and acts as a coupler to connect medical equipment and a computer or data network. Plugand-play design provides the fast and easy way of installation. Patients, users/staff, inventory and third parties are protected from dangerous leakage currents that can flow over the data network with job done in few seconds.
