STEEMCO Flowmeter for Steam

STEEMCO Flowmeter for Steam

Product catalog summary
Overview: The STEEMCO flow meter is designed for measuring the flow of saturated and superheated steam in various industries such as chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and power. It operates on the principle of measuring velocity in pipelines, providing volumetric flow measurement.
Features: The flow meter is compact, simple in construction, and has no moving parts, making it insensitive to vibrations. It offers high accuracy, wide rangeability, and is easy to install and recalibrate. The electronics provide a linear flow output signal, and a digital indicator is available for local flow reading.
Models: There are three models: ST1, ST2, and ST3. Each model uses a differential pressure principle with variations in construction, such as integrated manifold and condensing pot arrangements.
Technical Specifications: The flow meters are available in sizes DN 40 to DN 400, with pressure ratings up to PN 40. They can handle process temperatures up to 400°C and are mounted between flanges according to DIN or ANSI standards. The material used is primarily stainless steel AISI 316.
Installation Requirements: The flow meter can be installed in horizontal or vertical pipes. For accurate measurement, a minimum straight pipe run of 14 times the inner pipe diameter upstream and 6 times downstream is recommended.
Measurement Principle: The flow meter measures velocity by detecting pressure differentials caused by restrictions in the pipeline, based on Bernoulli's energy balance law.
Accessories: A remote electronic indicator with LCD is available for local flow indication and flow rate adjustments.
STEEMCO Coding: The document provides a detailed coding system for specifying the type, size, pressure rating, facing, pipe schedule, β value, drain/vent hole, manifold valve, mounting position, and differential pressure transmitter.

Overall dimensions Installation requirements The STEEMCO flow meter can be mounted in a horizontal or vertical pipe. The condensing pot arrangement shall be mounted horizontally with the outlet pointing downwards. To insure high accuracy of measurement, long straight pipe runs upstream from the flow meter is necessary. The required straight pipe run depends on the disturbance upstream. To maintain the 1,2% accuracy the minimum straight pipe run upstream shall be 14 x inner pipe diameter and 6 x downstream If an additional inaccuracy of ½ % is acceptable the required straight pipe runs are reduced...
