Oscillatory Wave Test System

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides an in-depth analysis of the Oscillatory Wave Test System used for immunity tests in high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) power transmission stations. It emphasizes the impact of damped oscillatory waves, generated during busbar switching, on power supply communication networks.
Phenomena: Damped oscillatory waves are divided into 'Slow Waves' (up to 1MHz) and 'Fast Waves' (up to 30MHz). Slow waves are linked to air-insulated switches, while fast waves are associated with SF6 gas-insulated switches. These waves can affect monitoring and communication equipment in substations and are also triggered by high altitude electromagnetic pulses (HEMP).
Applicable Standards: The document references standards such as ANSI C37.90.1, IEC 61000-4-18, IEC 60255-22-1, IEC 60947-1, IEC 61000-6-6, IEC 61000-4-10, and IEC 61000-4-25, which provide guidelines for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity testing.
Test System Features: The system is capable of generating slow oscillatory waves (100kHz, 1MHz) with amplitudes up to 3000V and fast oscillatory waves (3MHz, 10MHz, 30MHz) with amplitudes up to 4000V. It includes features such as automatic coupling path selection, parameter ramping, and electronic polarity change.
User Benefits: The system offers compatibility with existing equipment, automated test routines, and high reliability. It supports various test standards and can be controlled via software packages like GENECS or TEMA.
Generator Specifications: Specifications for different generators, including MIG-OS-OS1, MIG0603OSI, MIG-OS-OM, MIG0603OMI, and MIG-OS-MF, are detailed. These generators cover a range of oscillation frequencies, voltage ranges, and current capabilities for both voltage and magnetic field testing.
Accessories and Options: The system can be extended with external three-phase couplers like CDN2000-06-25 and CDN3000A-06-25, supporting various test standards and allowing for manual or automatic coupling path selection.
Specifications: Detailed specifications include fast wave oscillation frequencies (3, 10, and 30 MHz), source impedance (50 ohm), voltage range (0.25 to 4000V), and pulse characteristics. The use of MF1000 coil antennas for generating magnetic fields and the extension capabilities of MIG damped oscillatory wave testers are also described.
Procedures: Procedures for coupling oscillatory wave impulses into data lines using the CN-EFT1000 and calibration of current waves with the VERI01 OSI and VERI1KEFT components are outlined.
Standards: Applicable standards include IEC 61000-4-8, IEC 61000-4-9, IEC 61000-4-10, and IEC 61000-4-18, guiding the testing of AC, impulse, and damped oscillatory magnetic fields.
Software Solutions: Two software packages, GENECS-MIG and TEMA, are available for remote control of test systems, offering functionalities such as test report generation and enhanced test sequence management.
Product Range: EMC PARTNER offers a wide range of impulse test equipment for various applications, including lightning tests, component tests, and emission measurements. The document highlights the flexibility and automation capabilities of their systems, such as the MIG2000-6 and MIG1212CAP.

Oscillatory Wave Test System-2

Brief Overview of Phenomena Rptitive damped oscillatory waves are phenomena associated with the opening and closing of high voltage (HV) busbars in high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) power transmission stations. The physical environment influences the fundamental oscil驭lation frequency and repetition of the impulses. The most common type of switch used in power distribution is an air insulated type which has been measured as generating damped oscillatory impulses up to 1MHz with a repetition rate up to 400Hz. Damped oscillatory impulses up to 1MHz are termed "Slow Waves". The modern trend...
