Combination Wave Test System

Product catalog summary
Brief Overview of Phenomena: The document discusses the causes of overvoltages in industrial electronic systems, primarily due to switching actions or atmospheric discharges like lightning. It explains the use of Combination Wave Generators (CWG) to simulate voltage and current impulses, with a virtual impedance of 2 ohms. Ring waves, characterized by oscillatory impulse energy, are also described.

Applicable Standards: The document references several standards for surge and ring wave immunity tests, including ANSI C62.41, IEC 61000-4-5, IEC 61000-4-12, and ITU recommendations K.44, K.20, and K.21.

Test System Overview: The system features include impulse voltages up to 24,000V and currents up to 12,000A, with automatic coupling path selection and phase angle synchronization. It supports both power and telecom applications, ensuring operator safety and reducing test time through automation.

Generator Specifications: Various models are detailed, such as MIG0603IN, MIG1206, and MIG2412, each with specific voltage and current ranges, pulse durations, and source impedances. The document outlines the capabilities of each generator, including their compatibility with different standards and applications.

Accessories and Options: The document mentions external three-phase couplers and other accessories that extend the functionality of the combination and ring wave testers.

Overview: This document provides technical specifications and usage guidelines for EMC PARTNER's range of coupling networks and test systems designed for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing. It covers various models and their compliance with international standards.

Specifications: The document details several coupling networks, including CDN2000-06-25, CDN2000A-06-32, and CDN-MIG12-80C1, which are used for EFT/Burst, combination wave, and ring wave testing. These networks comply with standards such as IEC 61000-4-4, IEC 61000-4-5, IEC 61000-4-12, and ANSI C62.41. The CDN-MIG12-80C1 can handle up to 80A EUT current at 75V with a maximum impulse voltage of 12kV.

Magnetic Field Testing: Magnetic field testing is conducted using MF1000 coil antennas, which generate impulse magnetic fields when connected to MIG generators. The document specifies the dimensions and field strengths achievable with different MF1000 models.

Test Cabinets: The TC-MIG24 test cabinet is designed for EUTs with specific dimensions and integrates with MIG tester safety circuits to ensure safe testing conditions.

Communication Line Testing: The CDN-UTP network is used for superimposing surge impulses on balanced communication lines, adhering to IEC 61000-4-5 and other standards. It supports pulses up to 6.6kV and is available in versions for multiple lines.

Software: Remote control of combination wave generators is facilitated by software packages like GENECS-MIG and TEMA, which offer enhanced test reporting and control capabilities.

Product Range: EMC PARTNER offers a wide range of impulse test equipment for various applications, including lightning tests, component tests, and emission measurements. Their systems comply with numerous international standards and are designed for both manual and automated testing.

Contact Information: For further details, EMC PARTNER's contact information is provided, including their headquarters in Switzerland and a website for additional resources.

Combination Wave Test System-2

Brief Overview of Phenomena The most frquent cause of damage in Industriat electronic Systems is overvoltages. caused either by switching actions in the equipment itself or by almospheric discharges such as lightning. tf the interfrence source is in the same circurt as the electronic equipment, the transfer imp驩dance is low and the impulse takes a current form. If the interfrence is from some external source, the transfer impdance will be higher and a voltage impulse results. To simulate both th驨se conditions, a Combination Wave Generator (CWG) is designed to delrver a voltage impulse into an...
