Main Features
The EAM 63 AX / DX is a stainless steel multiturn absolute encoder designed for environments requiring high corrosion resistance, such as food and beverage machinery, marine applications, and washing systems. It features optical sensor technology with a resolution of up to 27 bits, combining 13-bit single turn and 14-bit multiturn capabilities. The encoder supports a power supply of up to +28 VDC and offers SSI output with options for cable or connector output. It has a solid shaft diameter of up to 10 mm and can be mounted using a clamping or centering 2.5” square flange.

Electrical Specifications
The encoder offers a multiturn resolution from 2 to 16384 turns and a singleturn resolution from 2 to 8192 ppr. It operates with a power supply range of 7.6 to 29.4 V DC and a current consumption of 100 mA without load. The output type is RS-422, with auxiliary inputs active high. The clock frequency ranges from 100 kHz to 1 MHz, and the SSI frame format varies based on multiturn bits.

Mechanical Specifications
The encoder has a shaft diameter of 9.52 mm or 10 mm and an enclosure rating of IP 66. It supports a maximum rotation speed of 3000 rpm and a maximum shaft load of 100 N axial/radial. The encoder is built with 1.4305 / AISI 303 stainless steel for the body, shaft, and housing, and it includes two ball bearings with a life of 109 revolutions. It operates within a temperature range of 0° to +60°C and can be stored between -15° and +70°C.

The encoder's cable output includes connections for +Vdc (red), 0 Volt (black), data + (green), data - (brown), clock + (yellow), clock - (orange or pink), and U/D (red/blue), with a shield for protection.
