Product catalog summary
Overview: The Smart Discharging System (SDS) is designed to eliminate disruptive static charges over medium distances. It features integrated high voltage generation, a robust and compact design, and is shockless, ensuring safety for personnel. The system is easy to install and maintain, with function and malfunction monitoring capabilities.
Specifications:
  • Supply Voltage: 24 V DC ±10%
  • Input Current: max. 0.5 A
  • Power Input: max. 12 W
  • Output Voltage: SDS/N: ±7 kV; SDS/E: ±11 kV
  • Working Distance: SDS/N: min. 100 mm; SDS/E: min. 150 mm
  • Operating Temperature: +5...+50°C (+41...+122°F)
  • Storage Temperature: -20...+80°C (-4...+176°F)
  • Humidity: max. 80% r.F., non-dewing
  • Protection Class: IP 66 according to EN 60529
Variants: The SDS is available in four variants, differentiated by operating range and interface:
  • SDS/N for close range with active lengths from 330 mm to 3,990 mm and grid spacing of 60 mm.
  • SDS/E for enlarged range with active lengths from 315 mm to 3,905 mm and grid spacing of 90 mm.
  • SDS/_S with fault signal output.
  • SDS/_C with CANopen® interface.
Installation and Mounting: The discharging bar features a groove for positioning holders at regular intervals. It is secured by tightening bolts. The bar should be positioned so that the distance between emission tips and the object is less than the distance to grounded components.
Connection Details:
  • Fault Signal Output Variant: 5-pin connector with specific pin functions for fault signal, supply voltage, and grounding.
  • CANopen® Variant: 5-pin connector with specific pin functions for CAN High and CAN Low signals.

Technical information SDS-3

The use of the SDS/N and SDS/E discharging bars depends on the material to be discharged, the process speed, the distance to the material and the required residual charge. Please contact a member of the Eltex sales team to determine the variant required for your application. The discharging bar SDS is available in 4 different variants. Different configurations with regard to operating range and/or interface are available: • Operating range SDS/N Close range: Active length: 330 mm - 3,990 mm grid spacing 60 mm SDS/E Enlarged range: Active length: 315 mm - 3,905 mm grid spacing 90 mm • Interface...
