Product catalog summary
Applications
The DELTA Universal fuel unit is designed for high-pressure oil burners and transfer pump applications. It adheres to international standards (EN 225-1) for easy replacement and compatibility. It supports both clockwise and counter-clockwise rotations and is suitable for low viscosity fuels and biodiesel with special seals.

Operation
The unit integrates a pump, solenoid valve, filter, and pressure regulator. It uses spur gears for pumping, with ports for suction, return, and nozzle. The unit can be configured for one or two pipe systems, with air purging facilitated through the pressure gauge port.

Pump Identification
Pumps are identified by type (VU for standard, BVU for biodiesel), nozzle capacity, rotation direction, pipe system, and coil type. Factory settings include pressure and coil specifications.

Technical Specifications
Key specifications include oil viscosity (1.2 to 12 cSt), maximum oil temperature (60°C), pressure range (6 to 18 bar), and rotation speed (up to 3500 rpm). The unit's dimensions and connection types are standardized.

Solenoid Valve Specifications
The solenoid valve operates at a maximum pressure of 25 bar, with a power absorption of 9 W and a voltage tolerance of -15% to +10%.

Installation and Maintenance
Guidelines include ensuring proper bypass plug usage, avoiding fuel additives, and ensuring no air pockets in pipes. Regular filter cleaning and careful installation to prevent damage are emphasized.

Nozzle Pressure and Cut-Off Tests
Procedures for testing nozzle pressure and ensuring proper cut-off after burner shutdown are detailed, emphasizing the importance of maintaining correct pressure settings.

Vacuum Test
This test verifies the fuel unit's suction ability and system integrity. It involves checking for leaks and ensuring the vacuum does not exceed specified limits.

DELTA – TECHNICAL MANUAL 8- Bypass installation To convert the DELTA fuel unit from the two pipe version to the single pipe version, do the following: a) Using a 4 mm Allen key, unscrew the bypass plug from the return port (Fig. 1). Fit a 1/4" plug into the return port (Fig. 2). WARNING In the two pipe version the air is bled through the return port. After conversion, the air must be bled manually, through the pressure gauge port. Make sure that the by-pass plug is not used in a single pipe installation, because the fuel unit will not function properly and damage to the pump and burner motor...

DELTA – TECHNICAL MANUAL 12- Nozzle Cut-Off Test 1. Make sure that the by-pass plug is not used in a single pipe installation, because the fuel unit will not function properly and damage to the pump and burner motor could result. 2. The rotation selector must be oriented with the groove vertical (L) or horizontal (R). 3. Do not use fuel with additives to avoid the possible formation over time of compounds which may deposit between the gear teeth, thus obstructing them. 4. After filling the tank, wait before starting the burner. This will give any suspended impurities time to deposit on the bottom...
