Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and operational guidelines for the DELTA Type S oil burner fuel unit, which is designed for high-pressure oil burners. It highlights the unit's features, applications, operation, and maintenance procedures.
1. Features: The DELTA fuel unit is characterized by high suction power, suitability for one or two pipe systems, bilateral delivery and suction ports, self-priming capability, balanced pressure regulation, silent operation, low power consumption, and easy installation and adjustment. It includes a pressure gauge port for monitoring.
2. Applications: This fuel unit is intended for pumping high-capacity and high-viscosity oil in oil burners. It is not suitable for pumping water or acid.
3. Operation: The unit consists of a pump, filter, and pressure regulator housed in one casting. It uses spur gears for pumping action and is available in both one and two pipe versions. The unit is self-priming and can expel air through designated lines. Pressure regulation is achieved via a spring and piston mechanism.
4. Pump Identification: The pump type is identified by a code indicating nozzle capacity, rotation direction, pressure range, oil type, and pipe system configuration.
5. Technical Specifications: Key specifications include oil viscosity range (5-300 cSt), maximum oil temperature (80°C), power consumption, nozzle capacity, suction and return line pressures, rotation speed (up to 3500 rpm), and standard strainer details. Dimensions and connection standards are also provided.
6. Nozzle Capacity and Power Consumption: Graphs illustrate the relationship between nozzle capacity, power consumption, and pressure at different viscosities and rotation speeds.
7. Installation and Maintenance: Guidelines emphasize the importance of correct installation to avoid damage, the use of appropriate sealing methods, and regular cleaning of filters. Specific instructions are provided for converting between single and two pipe systems.
8. Testing Procedures: Detailed procedures for nozzle pressure testing, nozzle cut-off testing, and vacuum testing are provided to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the fuel unit.
9. Cautions: The document includes several cautions regarding the use of additives, the importance of avoiding air pockets in pipes, and the need for proper sealing to prevent leaks.
10. Manufacturer's Note: Elettromeccanica Delta S.p.a. reserves the right to update or make technical changes without prior notice.

To convert S fuel unit from the two pipe version to the single pipe version, do the following: 1) Using a 5 mm Allen wrench, unscrew the by-pass plug from the return port (Fig. 5). IN 2) Insert and screw a 1/4" plug into the return port (Fig. 6). CAUTION: In the two pipe version the piston performs a positive nozzle cut-off and the air is bled through the return port. After the conversion, the air must be bled manually, through the pressure gauge. To convert S fuel unit from the single pipe version to the two pipe version, do the following: IN a) Remove the 1/4" plug from the return port (Fig....

Installation and service instructions 10- Installation and maintenance 12- Nozzle cut-off test (two pipe) • Make sure that the by-pass plug is not used in a single pipe installation, because the fuel unit will not function properly and damage to the pump and burner motor could result. Fuel oil is not compressible but air is. Air trapped in the nozzle line, anywhere between the fuel units nozzle port and the nozzle itself, will compress during burner operation. Following burner shutdown, any trapped compressed air will expand displacing the oil in the nozzle line, forcing continued oil flow through...
