MZ Advanced servomotor for VF-VFH butterfly valves

Product catalog summary
Description
The MZ servomotor is designed for operating VF and VFH butterfly valves, facilitating electronic positioning control of gas and air flow in combustion processes.

Features
The servomotor includes a DC motor with a multi-stage spur gearbox, high positioning precision via a 16-bit microcontroller, status LEDs, and position indicators. It supports various voltage inputs (230-110-24V) and has adjustable opening times from 7s to 60s. The design is robust, allowing easy installation and minimal maintenance.

Functioning and Application
The servomotor can be used in combustion processes regulated by air modulation, excess air or gas, and pre-heated air scenarios. It can be coupled with manually operated butterfly valves or Lambda sensors for ratio correction.

Technical Specifications
The servomotor allows continuous position adjustment via analogue signals, with a rotation angle of 0/90° and position repeatability of ±0.25°. It operates within an ambient temperature range of -15°C to +60°C and has a protection class of IP65.

Operation
The unit is suitable for applications requiring precise rotary movement control. It includes a DC motor, gearbox, and control unit with a microcontroller. Manual and automatic modes are available, with manual mode allowing for position adjustments and saving of min/max limits.

Manual Mode
Manual mode allows for simplified commissioning and position adjustments. The servomotor can be manually operated to determine high/low fire positions, with settings saved via push buttons.

Automatic Mode
In automatic mode, the angular position corresponds to the input analogue signal. The servomotor can operate in 2-point or 3-point control modes, with behaviour settings available for scenarios without input signals.

DIP Chart
The DIP chart provides configurations for input/output analogue signals, behaviour without input signals, sense of rotation, and control type.

Operating States and Alarms
Various LED indicators provide status updates and alarms for issues such as missing input signals, invalid positions, motor faults, and high temperatures.

Standards and Approvals
The actuators comply with European electrical safety standards, including Electromagnetic Compatibility and Low Voltage Directive. The quality management system is certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001.

Direct motor driving ELEKTROGAS – Technical Sheet EE157 - 03/11 Opening (B2) LED1 Automatic/ Manual (S1) Manual mode For a simplified commissioning, the actuator can be operated manually. The manual mode is useful to determine the operating positions for the process, such as the High/Low fire positions. To enter in the manual mode shift the switch S1 upward (LED1 lights up). Now it's possible to move the valve toward the 90° position (counter clo ckwise rotation seen from the top), by pressing the button B2, and to move the valve toward the 0° position (clockwise rotation seen from the top),...

ELEKTROGAS – Technical Sheet EE157 - 03/11 Automatic mode In the automatic mode the angular position corresponds to the input analogue signal provided by a setpoint device. Factory setting allows full range of operation (0-90° but, as above ) described, MIN and MAX position can be set within this range in manual mode. An output analogue signal proportional to angular position is also provided. Both input and output signals can be chosen between 0-10V, 0(4)-20mA setting the proper DIP switch configuration (see "DIP Chart"). Behaviour without input signal (4-20mA) In the event of cable break or...

MZ Advanced servomotor for VF-VFH butterfly valves-8

ELEKTROGAS – Technical Sheet EE157 - 03/11 Hysteresis and Filtration The input analogue signal is processed internally with a resolution of 12 bit , corresponding to 0,025% of full scale. However, the hysteresis can be modified by means of a potentiometer from 10 up to 124 LSB (corresponding to 0,25% up to 3% of full scale). The factory setting is 30 LSB, and this allows, with a 4-20mA input signal for example, to detect a change of 0,15mA (hysteresis). If the input signal fluctuations are too great (e.g. due to noise), use of high resolution causes constant corrections of the position. In this...
