Product catalog summary
Introduction
This document is a product catalogue from ELESTA GmbH, highlighting their range of relays with forcibly guided contacts. Known for Swiss innovation, ELESTA has been a significant player in the relay manufacturing industry since 1997.

Company Background
Founded in 1997, ELESTA GmbH specializes in relays with forcibly guided contacts and has expanded into sensor technology. The company has received awards such as the SME Primus innovation prize and the Swiss Lean Award.

Product Overview
The catalogue includes relays across 25 basic series, such as SIS, SIF, SGR, SIM, SLR, and SIR, known for features like small dimensions, high shock resistance, and low coil power. These relays are suitable for various applications, including ATEX areas.

Technical Specifications
Specifications for each relay series include:
  • Number of contacts: 2 to 10.
  • Contact material: AgCuNi and AgSnO2.
  • Coil voltage: 3 VDC to 220 VDC.
  • Coil power: 200 mW to 1300 mW.
  • Switching current: 3 mA to 16 A.
  • Test voltages: Up to 5000 Vrms.
  • Protection class: RT II and RT III.
  • Approvals: UL, cUL, TÜV.

Insulation and Endurance
Relays offer basic insulation at 250 VAC with air and creepage distances over 4 mm, and reinforced insulation with distances over 10 mm. They have a mechanical endurance of over 10 million operations.

Specifications
Additional specifications include:
  • Bounce time: NO contact 2 ms, NC contact 15 ms.
  • Shock resistance: NO > 17g, NC > 7g.
  • Vibration resistance: NO > 7g, NC > 2g.
  • Ambient temperature: -40°C to +85°C.
  • Thermal resistance: 55 K/W.
  • Coil temperature limit: 120°C.

Standards and Approvals
Complies with UL File E188953 Sec. 5, IEC 60664-1, and UL 94 / V0 fire protection requirements. Meets IEC 61810-1 and IEC 61810-3 standards.

Contact Data
Contact material is AgCuNi+0.2-0.4 µm Au. Rated switching capacity is 250 VAC 6 A AC1 1500 VA, with an electrical life of over 90,000 operations.

Coil Data
Nominal coil power is 0.27 W, with holding coil power at 0.08 W. Standard coils for direct current are available in various voltages.

Relay Key Data
Features PCB relay with forcibly guided contacts, protective separation between control and load circuit, and small external dimensions.

Insulation Specifications
Includes basic and reinforced insulation at 250 VAC, with test voltage for double insulation at 4000 V / 50 Hz / 1 min.

Mechanical and Electrical Specifications
Mechanical endurance exceeds 10 million operations with a switching frequency of 15 Hz. Shock and vibration resistance are specified for NO and NC contacts.

Options and Accessories
Available options include print sockets and DIN-rail sockets for certain series. The SIR series offers a PCB socket as an accessory.

Until the 1980s, ELESTA stood for Swiss innovation in electromechanics and electronics. When the new ELESTA relays GmbH was founded in March 1997 from the legacy of the "old" ELESTA Elektronik AG, the company concentrated on the production of relays with forcibly guided contacts. Later, the fields of business for customer-specific development and production services as well as sensor technology were added. Some of the product innovation milestones are the smallest, most energy-efficient and flattest relay. The small SIS 212 relay was awarded the innovation prize of the SME Primus in 2005. A success factor...
