vario PYRO cube High Temp Pyrolysis for IRMS with OH/CNS Analysis Stable Isotope laboratories have ever increasing demands for functionality and versatility. H and O isotopic determination in solids and liquids often require pyrolysis conditions of up to 1,500°C. Oxygen isotope determination of high nitrogen containing samples oers analytical challenges. These same labs also have needs for carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur isotopic as well as concentration determinations. In the past, labs have had to invest in two separate analyzers to cover this range of analysis; one for combustion and the other for pyrolysis. vario PYRO cube represents two instruments in one: 1,500°C Compact Pyrolysis Analyzer The vario PYRO cube breaks new ground by combining an 1,500°C pyrolysis analyzer with a fully functional elemental analyzer for carbon, nitrogen and sulfur determination. In pyrolysis mode, the system can be congured for individual or simultaneous H and O determination using a glassy carbon/ceramic pyrolysis system. The use of the Elementar CO purge & trap column results in complete baseline separation of the H₂ from the CO peaks. It also fully separates N₂ from interfering with the H₂ isotopic measurement. In O only mode, an excess carbon pyrolysis system results in exceptional accuracy and precision, even for high nitrogen containing samples (e.g. hair, caffeine). The system uses a special back ush system (patent applied for) to remove background bleed from the pyrolysis tube. Fully Functional Elemental Analyzer for CNS The vario PYRO cube incorporates a complete elemental analyzer with Dumas combustion for the determination of Carbon, Nitrogen and Sulfur, both for composition as well as isotope determinations. The system uses a two tube furnace avoiding the short life and inconvenience of single tube systems. Elementar’s well known purge & trap separation system results in a large dynamic concentration and weighing range and allows for simultaneous CNS determination. The special thermal conductivity detector has high sensitivity, unbelievable stability and unique indestructible thermistors.

vario PYRO cube Compact Design The vario PYRO is a member of Elementar’s well renown “cube” family. The very small foot print is the result of the use of micro design and electronics techniques. Even the power supply for the 1,500°C furnace is incorporated in this compact design. The system can operate from 115 -240 VAC. Automatic Sampling Options The vario PYRO cube comes with an incorporated single level, 120 position zero blank sampler. Solid or liquid samples in capsules are individually purged of atmospheric nitrogen as they are automatically transferred to the high temperature furnace....
