Product catalog summary
Overview
The PoroTest 1 is a portable, battery-operated device designed for detecting pores and defects in electrically non-conductive coatings on metallic substrates. It is primarily intended for field use, serving as a tool for quality control and final inspection of protective coatings.

Specifications
- Length of basic gauge: 300 mm
- Length of earthing cable: 1.5 m
- Dimensions of sponge probe: 90 x 60 x 25 mm
- Total weight: approximately 390 g
- Power supply: 9 Volts alkaline battery (6LR61) or NiCd storage battery (approx. 50 hours continuous operation)
- Operating temperature: 0 to 50 °C
- Sensitivity: Acoustic signal if test resistance is less than approximately 100 kOhm
- Coating thickness range: 0 to 300 microns

Test Principle
The PoroTest 1 functions as a resistance detector, identifying differences in electrical resistance between the non-conductive coating and water-filled pores. A wet sponge serves as the test sensor. When a pore is detected, moisture from the sponge allows electrical current to flow, triggering an acoustic signal. The device operates on a safe 9V direct current, detecting pores that penetrate the coating thoroughly.

Supply Schedule
- PoroTest 1 gauge with sponge
- 9 Volts Alkaline battery, 6LR61
- Operating instructions in English, German, and French
- Earthing cable

Optional Accessories
- Battery charger

PoroTest 1-2
