The SS110 System is anefficientwayto continuouslytrackpropermachine RPM, and provide a relayoutputupon detection ofan unwanted change in speed orstoppage ofthe monitored shaft. Electro-Sensors Speed Switches bring efficiencyand safetyto youroperations bypreventing machinedamage, productwaste and costlydowntime. > The SS110 Switch is supplied with a shaft-mounted pulserdisc(oroptional pulserwrap)which generates an alternating magneticfield thatis picked up bythe large-gap non-contactsensor. The sensortransmits this speed signal as a digital pulse (frequency)to the switch via a 3-conductorshielded cable. The SS110 decodes this frequencysignal to determine shaftspeed and compares this to its pre-adjusted setpoint. The relayoutputcan then be used forequipmentshutdown orto provide an alarm, assuring machine protection and process integrity. The SS110 Switch can be mounted on a DIN Rail, which is useful forapplications where plantelectrical controls arecentrallylocated in a control cabinet.
