Overview
The SS110 Switch is a comprehensive system designed to monitor a single rotating shaft with an adjustable set point. It efficiently tracks machine RPM and provides a relay output when there is an unwanted change in speed or stoppage, enhancing operational efficiency and safety by preventing machine damage, product waste, and downtime.

Principle of Operation
The system includes a shaft-mounted pulser disc or optional pulser wrap that generates an alternating magnetic field. This field is detected by a large-gap non-contact sensor, which transmits a digital pulse signal to the switch. The SS110 decodes this signal to determine shaft speed and compares it to a pre-adjusted set point. The relay output can be used for equipment shutdown or alarms, ensuring machine protection and process integrity. The SS110 can be mounted on a DIN Rail and operates fail-safe in underspeed mode.

The SS110 is a DIN Rail Mount Slow-Speed Switch offering single set point relay protection for overspeed or underspeed conditions. It features RPM set point ranges of 0.01 - 0.99 and 0.1 - 9.9, dial-in calibration via rotary switches, and fail-safe operation in underspeed mode. It is fully field adjustable and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.

Installation
The standard sensor comes with a mounting bracket and jam nuts, while the explosionproof sensor includes a slotted mounting bracket. The sensor should be installed so that the center of the magnets passes in front of the sensing head during rotation, with a gap distance of 1/4" ± 1/8".
