Introduction
Electro-Sensors, Inc. has announced the release of new ION Modbus Network Nodes designed to simplify remote sensor installation and reduce wiring costs. These nodes are suitable for remote data acquisition and machinery control applications.
Specifications
The ION Modbus Network Nodes are available in two configurations: one with 12 analog inputs and another with 6 discrete inputs and 6 relay outputs. They feature mis-wire and short-circuit protection for input and sensor power terminals. The devices connect directly to PLCs, touchscreens, and PCs, offering high data throughput with less than 1 mS latency. LED status indicators provide visual feedback on power, communication, and fault conditions.
Installation and Connectivity
The nodes include pluggable terminal blocks for power input, an isolated 2-wire RS485 network port, sensor connections, and relay outputs, making installation straightforward and efficient.
Analog Input Node (AIN) Features
The AIN can read up to 12 (4-20mA) analog output sensors, such as those for bearing temperature and belt alignment. A full network of 31 AIN nodes can read up to 372 sensors.
Discrete Input/Output Node (DIO) Features
The DIO can read up to 6 switches or discrete output sensors, such as panel and limit switches. A full network of 31 DIO nodes can read up to 186 sensors.
Company Background
Electro-Sensors, Inc., established in 1965, is a leading manufacturer of machine monitoring sensors and hazard monitoring systems, known for providing rugged and reliable solutions worldwide.
PRESS RELEASE Electro-Sensors, Inc. Releases ION Modbus RTU I/O Modules Minnetonka, MN—Electro-Sensors, Inc. announces the release of new ION Modbus Network Nodes to simplify remote sensor installation and help to save on wiring costs. IONs are available with 12 analog inputs or 6 discrete inputs and 6 relay outputs making them ideal for remote data acquisition and machinery control applications. Input and sensor power terminals are mis-wire and short-circuit protected. Directly connecting to PLCs, touchscreens and PCs, these devices offer high data throughput with less than 1 mS latency. LED status indicators provide clear, visual indication of power, communication and fault conditions to ensure you are always aware of your system’s status. Pluggable terminal blocks for power input, isolated 2-wire RS485 network port, sensor connection (including 24Vdc protected sensor power outputs) and relay outputs make wiring and installation minimal and easy.
