Overview of A Type Universal Protector
The A Type Universal Protector is a patented thermal protector designed for use in various household appliances such as refrigeration compressors, washing machines, dishwashers, dryers, and vacuum cleaners. It operates within the 120 to 250 VAC range and is sensitive to currents below one amp, allowing for flexible motor design and easy placement outside motor windings.

Design and Functionality
The protector features a compact design with a contact rating of up to 15 amps, suitable for a wide range of applications. It prevents motor overheating due to high amp, high temperature, or locked rotor conditions through a combination of a bimetal disc, supplemental heater, and a terminal plate. The device opens the circuit when a fault condition occurs and resets once the temperature normalizes.
