Mechanical & Environmental Specifications
The absolute encoders with fieldbus interface are constructed with an aluminum case and stainless steel shaft. They weigh approximately 500 grams and are available with shaft/joint hole diameters ranging from 6 to 15 mm. The encoders can operate at a maximum of 6000 revolutions per minute with a starting torque of ≤0.8 Ncm and inertia of ≤25 g cm². They can withstand axial loads up to 80 N and radial loads up to 100 N. The encoders are resistant to vibrations (100 m/sec²) and shocks (50 G for 11 ms). They have a protection degree of IP65, with an optional upgrade to IP67, and can operate in temperatures from -30°C to 70°C, with a storage temperature range of -30°C to 85°C.
Electrical & Operating Specifications
The encoders operate on a magnetic principle with a resolution of 8192 steps per revolution (13-bit) and support up to 65536 revolutions (16-bit multiturn). They initialize in less than 1 second and have a data memory retention of over 21 years without power. The encoders use the CANopen fieldbus for communication, supporting a supply voltage of 5 to 28 Vdc with protection against polarity reversal. They consume 2 W of power and have an accuracy of ± ½ LSB. Connection options include 3 or 2 cable glands or 2 M12 connectors. They comply with interference immunity standard EN 61000-6-2 and emitted interference standard EN 61000-6-4.
CANopen Fieldbus Features
The CANopen fieldbus provides a data rate of 1 MBaud with network expansion capabilities. It supports real-time operation, data consistency, broadcasting, and multicasting. The encoders comply with CiA DS 301 and DS 406 standards and are classified as Class C2 devices.
Settable Parameters & Diagnostic Functions
Users can set parameters such as steps per revolution, number of revolutions, preset, and rotation direction. Diagnostic functions include position or parameter error detection and battery alarms. The encoders feature three signaling LEDs for supply, line, and error indications.
Programming & Setting
Node ID and baud rate can be defined or modified using specific objects or encoder switches.
Mechanical Versions
Various mechanical versions are available, including MEM620-Bus, MEM520-Bus, MEM540-Bus, MEM410-Bus, and MEM450-Bus, each with specific flange and shaft configurations.
