Sic is a durable and heat resisting filter material (max 2000C°). The EHC PF filters reduce heavily the discharges of all exhaust particles (soot, PM, etc), gases (CO, No²) and smell (HC). They can only be used on vehicles, machines, etc which are used intensively. The exhaust temperature needs to be above 300°C. If it’s not sure that this is the case it is necessary to monitor the temperature with a logger. If the temperature is to low the self regenerative filters are not the solution.
