Overview: This document provides technical specifications for the IGEXHa series of proximity switches by EGE-Elektronik Spezial-Sensoren GmbH. These sensors are designed for use in hazardous areas with gas and dust, offering intrinsic safety and high-temperature resistance.

Design and Dimensions: The sensors are available in three designs: M12x1, M18x1, and M30x1.5. They can be installed flush or non-flush, with operating distances ranging from 2 mm to 15 mm depending on the model.

Ex Area of Use: The sensors are suitable for Gas Zone 0/1 and Dust Zone 20/21. They are certified with ATEX and IECEx standards, ensuring safety in explosive environments.

Ex Marking and Certification: The sensors carry the Ex marking for gas (II 1G Ex ia IIC T6 Ga) and dust (II 1D Ex ia IIIC T145°C Da). They are certified under Certificate No. EPS 17 ATEX 1 173 X and IECEx EPS 17.0087X.

Temperature Ratings: The ambient temperature range for Gas Zone 0 is -20°C to +60°C, and for Gas Zone 1, it is -25°C to +75°C. The sensors can withstand medium temperatures up to +140°C in Dust Zones 20 and 21.

Electrical Specifications: Maximum values include a supply voltage (Ui) of 12.6 V, current (Ii) of 15.9 mA, power (Pi) of 50 mW, capacitance (Ci) of 66.2 nF, and inductance (Li) of 1.2 mH.

Material and Protection: The housing is made from AISI 316 Ti and PEEK, offering protection ratings of IP 68 (3 bar) and IP 69, making them resistant to high-pressure cleaning.

Connection and Compatibility: The sensors come with a 2 m FEP-cable (2x0.34 mm²) and are compatible with amplifiers IKMb 122 Ex. Proximity switches with cable lengths greater than 2 m are available upon request.

Applications: These inductive sensors are ideal for use in intrinsically safe environments, suitable for both dust and gas applications in hazardous zones.
