Product catalog summary
Definition
Silencers are designed to control noise produced by the expansion of gas or steam at high pressures during atmospheric discharge.
Applications
These silencers are used to reduce noise from high-velocity gas flows, such as steam vents, safety and relief valves, blowing systems, and purge points.
Specific Design
Each silencer is custom-designed based on required noise attenuation, with dimensions proportional to noise reduction needs and gas mass flow. The design ensures structural integrity against wind, snow, and earthquakes, and includes a lateral support system. Silencers are built to withstand thermal shock and high-pressure stresses, and can be adapted for special applications requiring a transversal inlet.
Components
The main components include the inlet diffuser, absorbent plenum, and dissipative stage. The inlet diffuser reduces noise and modifies the sound spectrum, providing back pressure for optimal valve performance. The absorbent plenum smooths gas flow, while the dissipative stage reduces noise through viscous friction.
Basic Materials
The silencer shell and top caps are made of carbon steel, with other components made from stainless steel and mineral wool for sound absorption. The design accommodates thermal expansions in cyclic operations.
Accessories
Accessories include flanges, expansion joints, support systems, lifting lugs, anti-bird mesh, multiple inlet systems, and rain protection. Special packaging can be provided upon request.
Calculation Parameters
Design and manufacture optimization requires information on design conditions (pressure, temperature, connection diameter), operating conditions (fluid type, flow rate, temperature, pressure), and acoustic conditions (sound pressure level, installation height, sound spectrum).

Model EFSASIN-V-2

Model EFSASIN-V – Silencer SPECIFIC DESIGN Each silencer is custom designed according to the noise attenuation required. Its dimensions are directly proportional to the desired noise reduction and the gas mass flow. Noise reduction depends on the silencer length while the diameter of the silencer depends on gas flow. These silencers are designed for a maximum speed that minimizes noise and ensures structural integrity. The silencers are structurally designed to withstand wind and snow loads. In relation to earthquakes, silencers are usually equipped with a lateral support system that allows design...

Model EFSASIN-V-3

Model EFSASIN-V – Silencer The absorbent plenum is an expansion chamber designed to smooth and homogenize the flow of gas prior to the reduction of acoustic energy to be obtained in the dissipative stage. Designs and manufactures these absorbent plenums to reduce the acoustic radiation through the outer shell of these silencers. In the dissipative stage the fluid passes through a system of multitube, crowns, or absorbent baffles, achieving significant reductions in noise by viscous friction depending on the design and the depth of the silencer (higher length means greater silencer acoustic attenuation...

Model EFSASIN-V – Silencer Flanges: are welded to the silencer inlet pipe, these can be normalized according to ANSI B16.5, DIN, and SAE. Expansion joints: normally, provided upon request, these silencers have expansion joints (vertical and horizontal), which can be directly welded to the inlet tube or provided with flanges (the choice of the compensator will depend on the estimated tension for all piping where is located the silencer). Support: the silencers come equipped with a system of supports (brackets) as they will be supported in the structure. Support legs (upon request) Lifting Lugs:...
