CONTINUOUS MELT FILTRATION - 1

Wood and paper are very common impurities in plastic recycling. Conventional filter systems using mesh screens are usually unable to manage even small amounts of such impurities. The continuous CDF-type melt filter separates contamination such as paper, wood, aluminum or rubber efficiently and can deal with large amounts of contaminants in the melt stream (up to 5%). A melt pressure controlled scraper system removes the contamination from the surface of a rotating screen disc with minimal polymer loss. MAS© MAS CDF: FILTRATION OF THE HIGHEST CALIBER Impurities are discharged continuously from the CDF, while the filtrated melt is forwarded to the pelletizing system. The melt pressure in front of the filtration disc automatically controls the function of the scrapers. EASY MAINTENANCE Filter discs are manufactured from hardened steel. Replacement is very simple as the filter screen is easily accessible once the split housing has been opened. Consequently, the filter screen can be replaced in a few minutes using conventional tools. The screen can be cleaned with a vacuum oven (like the SC 700) and reused numerous times. TYPE Diameter of filter Filter surface Filtration finesse * Depending on filtration finesse, polymer type and contamination level. a melt outlet breaker plates NOTE: Technical data subject to change.
