TX Series - EDDY CURRENT PROBES

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The TX Series of eddy current probes by eddylab is a digital device for non-contact measurements on metallic targets, featuring USB, CAN, and high-speed analogue interfaces. It operates effectively across a wide temperature range (-60 °C to 185 °C), ensuring precision and minimal temperature drift.
Specifications
The TX Series offers submicrometer precision, high dynamics (124 kSa/s), and robust noise immunity. It supports single or dual-channel devices with USB and CAN-bus interfaces, and operates on a power supply range of 10.5 to 36 VDC.
Measurement Principle
The probes use a DSP-driven oscillating circuit to generate magnetic fields, inducing eddy currents on conductive surfaces. These currents affect the circuit's amplitude, which is processed for measurement.
Temperature Coefficient and Probe Drift
The probes have an optimized temperature coefficient between -60 to 185 °C, achieving minimal drift through a 12-hour thermal finishing procedure and calibration.
Applications
Applications include high-resolution distance measurements, vibration monitoring, deformation analysis, production inspection, thickness measurement, and weld seam positioning.
Calibration
Calibration options include factory calibration for various materials, with certificates provided. Custom calibration is available for materials like steel, aluminum, titanium, and carbon fiber.
Technical Data
Probes are available in types T05 to T10, with different measurement ranges and housing sizes. They feature high linearity (±0.15% of range) and resolution dependent on distance, housed in stainless steel with PEEK sensor heads, and are IP68 rated.
Accessories
Accessories include Windows software for data analysis, digital gauges, USB data cables, adapter cables, and DIN rail connectors. An extra slim power supply is also available.
Key Features
Features include a 100% Power Boost, capacitors for power failure bypass, and customizable cable lengths and connectors.
Portable Linear Stage
Includes a Newport linear stage with a prism-shaped socket for sensors and a quick release socket for different targets.
Software - EDDYMOTION
A Windows-based tool for analysis and configuration, featuring oscilloscope, FFT analysis, data logger, and waterfall diagram capabilities.
Calibration and Linearisation
Includes an integrated linearisation procedure and a portable linear stage with micrometer screw for on-site linearisation.
Installation Guidelines
Guidelines include proper countersinking, use of shielded supply lines, and keeping probe heads free from conductive objects.
Resolution and Temperature
Resolution is best within the first 50% of the measuring range, with minimal temperature coefficient ensuring precision.
Precautions
Do not shorten the probe's coaxial cable, protect cables from stress, and avoid using sensors in radioactive environments.
TX Basic Module Specifications
Available in TX1 (1-channel) and TX2 (2-channel) modules, with a power supply range of 10.5 to 36 VDC and 16-bit AD/DA resolution.
Analogue Output Options
Options include 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, 0-5 V, and ±5 V, with features like reference input and switching IO.
Order Code and Accessories
Includes options for probes and modules, extension cables, power supply cables, and digital gauge accessories.
Sensors and Calibration
Sensors like DK812SBR offer resolutions of 0.1 µm and 0.5 µm, with adapter cables and micrometer calibration apparatus available.

TX Series - EDDY CURRENT PROBES-2

For more than twenty years we have been occupied with the development and production of high-quality eddy current probes for industry and research. With the new TX Series, eddylab is introducing a fully digital device – incorporating USB, CAN and a high-speed analogue interface. Eddy current probes are particularly suitable devices for non-contact measurements on metallic targets. Typical applications are measurements on rotating shafts for the detection of imbalance, vibration, out-of-roundness, air gap, radial/axial run-out, and much more besides. The extremely high resolution up to a level...

TX Series - EDDY CURRENT PROBES-12

12 SOFTWARE EDDYMOTION | TX SERIES A well known issue when it comes to eddy current measurements is the strong sensitivity to varying target material and pre-attenuation. The maximum scaling error under varying material can be 20 % or more. The linearity error can be 7 % or more. Another severe error source affecting the accuracy is pre-attenuation. This effect has to be taken in account when the sensor is mounted in narrow gaps and holes. The error due to pre-attenuation is hard to predict - but in most cases higher than expected. The TX-Driver in conjunction with eddyMOTION resolves the issues...
