CM series Eddy currrent Sensor

Product catalog summary
Overview: The CM Series Eddy Current Sensors are ultra-compact devices designed for monitoring dynamic machine components under high pressure and temperature conditions. They offer contactless distance measuring capabilities and are suitable for use in limited spaces due to their shielded design and ceramic housing.
Specifications:
  • Pressure resistance up to 100 bar.
  • Temperature range for sensors: -60 to 185°C.
  • Temperature range for cables: -55 to +200°C.
  • Protection class: IP68.
  • Vibration resistance: 20 g, DIN EN 60068-2-6.
  • Shock resistance: 100 g / 6 ms, DIN EN 60068-2-27.
Applications: These sensors are ideal for harsh industrial environments, particularly for monitoring the lubrication gap of crankshafts and the position of compressor wheels in turbochargers. They are optimized for high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
Technical Data:
  • Probe types: CM05, CM1, CM2 with measuring ranges of 0.5 mm, 1 mm, and 2 mm respectively.
  • Housing sizes: ø6 mm, ø7.5 mm, ø8.6 mm.
  • Linearity: ±0.15% of range.
  • Resolution varies with frequency and distance.
Installation Guidelines:
  • Choose a dry location with stable temperature for electrical installation.
  • Use shielded supply lines to avoid ground loops.
  • Ensure correct probe and module alignment.
  • Do not shorten the probe cable or place it under stress.
Precautions:
  • Avoid using sensors in strong radioactive environments.
  • Protect coaxial cable connections from humidity.
  • Do not switch channels as sensors are aligned with the electronic system.

CM series Eddy currrent Sensor-2

The CM Series are eddy current sensors, excellent for use in harsh industrial environments under high pressure and temperature conditions. The ceramic housing can be used as the pressurised component, there is no extra housing needed. All CM sensors are shielded. The combination of shielded coil and ceramic housing guarentees an universal use in limited space of machine parts. Measuring of lubrication gap of crankshafts is a typical application for the CM series. THE BASIC PRINCIPLE The principle of measurement bases on a DSP-driven oscillating circuit made up of the probe (inductance) and a...

INSTALLATION■ ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION Choose a dry location, preferably with a stable temperature for the electrical installation (TX-Driver) such as electrical cabinets, terminal boxes, housing, etc. Connect the supply line, probe lines and output lines. Please ensure that all supply and signal lines are laid separately from energy-carrying lines such as supply and discharge lines from converters and drives, lines from ovens and synchronised appliances or generator lines, etc., in order to avoid malfunctions in the signal behaviour. Please use shielded supply lines only and apply the shield to...
