ecochimica system A. Ecochimica Biofilter - General Description The biofilter is the most natural system for purifying air. Air purification and odour treatment obtained with the use of either chemical or absorbent products does not eliminate the pollutant but rather only transfer it. Using a scrubber, for example, the polluted air is transferred into the water, which has to be treated before disposal. ecochimica system D. Use of bio-modules within Ecochimica's Biofilter The filtering material base is made of self-supporting ECOCHIMICA BIOMODULES, constructed of PEHD. The biomodules are not in direct contact with the organic material but are instead covered with a gravel layer (gravel size 50-60 mm) of about 10 cm (Fig. 8-9-10), promoting the equalized release of air over the entire surface of the biofilter.
