Product catalog summary
Device Overview
Swisstac switches are modularly designed and consist of three main components: the front interface, the intermediate section, and the switching element block. Each switch is fully tested when assembled, with the electrical output and service life determined by the switching element. The design ensures protection against external influences, and type approvals apply to the complete switch.

Environmental Conditions
Shock resistance is specified at 500 m/s² and 150 m/s² for different pulse widths, while vibration resistance is up to 100 m/s² across a frequency range of 10 Hz to 500 Hz. The switches have various approvals including CSA, ENEC, UL, and VDE, and conform to CE standards.

Front Section
The front section indicates the switching status and determines the type of protection, with materials such as polycarbonate and polybutylene terephthalate used for construction. Protection degrees range from IP 40 to IP 67.

Intermediate Section
This section includes setting and reset functions and houses necessary components like the switching block and lamps. It is made from polycarbonate and nickel silver, with mechanical lifetimes varying by switch type, such as over 2 million cycles for illuminated pushbuttons.

Switching Element Block
Up to five switching elements can be integrated, with types including snap-action, slow-make stop, diode, and blind elements. Materials include polyamide and stainless steel, with electrical characteristics such as electric strength of 2500 VAC and isolation resistance over 1012 Ω.

Snap-action Switching Element
Features double-break jump contacts with a self-cleaning design. It has a mechanical lifetime of 2 million cycles and supports various voltage and current ratings.

Slow-make Switching Element
Designed with a rigid contact link and double-break NC, it has a mechanical lifetime of 8000 cycles and supports a rated operational voltage of 250 VAC.

Diode and Blind Elements
The diode element has no switching function but includes a 1N4007 diode. The blind element fills empty spaces without electrical function.

Buzzer
Operates at voltages of 6, 12, and 24 V AC/DC with a power consumption of approximately 13 mA and an acoustic output of 84 dB.

Emergency-stop Switch
Features a self-cleaning, double-break slow-make element with a mechanical lifetime of 50,000 cycles. It supports various voltage and current ratings and includes short-circuit protection.

Keylock Switch
Available with various standard lock numbers, with additional locks available upon request.

General_technical_data Series Device General Environmental conditions Swisstac switches are modularly designed. They are divided in three groups: Shock resistance (single impacts, semi-sinusoidal) 500 m/s², puls width 11 ms, as per EN IEC 60068-2-27 max. 150 m/s², pulse width 11 ms, as per EN IEC 60068-2-29 1. Front Interface Human-Switch with state detector. 2. Intermediate section Set and reset device, lamp holder, latching funktion. 3. Switching element block Up to 5 switching elements can be integrated in a switching element block. Each switch is tested fully mounted. Electrical output and service life are determinated by the switching element. Front and inter mediate section are designed for maximum service life of the s witching element. They determine in what way the switches are protected against external influences. The type approvals relate to the complete switch. Vibration resistance (sinusoidal) max. 100 m/s² at 10 Hz … 500 Hz, as per EN IEC 60068-2-6 Approvals Approbations CSA ENEC (EN 61058) UL VDE Declaration of conformity CE Front General The front notifies the switching status, serves for activation of the switch and determines its type of protection. With the exep tion of the front 18 mm dia. of the illuminated pushbuttons 55 and 70 mm, all front bezel elements have activation protection.
