Centrifuges The decanter is designed to perform separation operations for mixtures having high solid concentrations (from 1 % up to 30 %). Operating Principle ie feed solution is introduced into a cylindrical-conical bowl which is rotating. The liquid is accelerated at high speed and divided into 2 or 3 phases by centrifugal force. A screw conveyor, which rotates at a differential speed, ensures the evacuation of the accumulated solids to the tapered outlet. The clarified liquid flows in counter-current and is discharged by overflow (cf. Separation Technology scheme). It is possible to monitor the dryness by modifying the differential speed and consequently the retention time of the solid inside the bowl. Our decanters are able to extract particles which size varies from 2 pm to 40 mm with an hydraulic outflow reaching up to 50 m3/h.
